cielo24’s mission is to develop the next generation media experience (contextual video with media insights) to help clients maximize the value of their media content. cielo24’s media analysis platform utilizes automation and massive crowd-sourcing to create high-quality media data including captions, timed transcripts, indexes and media intelligence. To support us in this mission we are searching for an individual who sits at the intersection of data science and engineering and is excited about directly participating in the full-stack development of our next generation media insight engine.

cielo24 is searching for a leader to manage a team of highly motivated and talented engineers towards maintaining, enhancing, and designing solutions to further expand our cloud platform’s capabilities.
As the Lead Engineer in a dynamic startup, you will play multiple roles such as Lead Architect, leading and mentoring our engineering team, while rolling up your sleeves to develop and review code.
As a leader at our company, you will play a pivotal role in developing our cloud-based media data engine while guiding your team members to success. Day to day activities will include developing/reviewing code, mentoring and communicating with key customers/vendors.
The ideal candidate will find the balance between maintaining the platform, improving the platform, while delivering new products to market.
Requirements
Technical:
- 3 years of experience managing engineering efforts
- 8+ years professional coding experience
- 5 years Python experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related major
- Experience in at least two of the following areas: RESTful APIs, workflow software, workflow automation, video/audio encoding, and Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) or Speech to Text (S2T)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail
- A “just get things done” mentality
Bonus Experience:
- Experience managing the engineering efforts in a dynamic startup
- Release management
- DevOps. Specifically, on the AWS Platform
- JavaScript. Some framework. *Any* framework
- Django gets double bonus points
Other Information
This position can be based in Santa Barbara, CA, NYC or remote for the right candidate.
